About Us
This is who we are & Why we are the BestRod Fivecoat
Co-Owner / Auctioneer
A native Idahoan, ROD grew up attending auctions and learning the business at his dad’s auction company. Having the desire to continue in the auction industry, Rod attended the Western College of Auctioneering in Billings, Montana, and graduated at the top of his class in 1983. He then spent many years as a contract auctioneer selling for auction companies all over Oregon and Idaho and helped found Rod Fivecoat Auctions, LLC in 2015. Rod is an award-winning auctioneer, a licensed FFL dealer, a licensed motor vehicle dealer, and he is also our sales manager. It is Rod’s mission to treat customers with honesty and integrity. Whether he is selling your tractor or your entire estate, he will always leave you with a handshake and a smile. In his free time Rod enjoys spending time with his five grandsons, riding his Harley with his buddies, and traveling to new locations.

Shelli
FFL Management/Administration
Shelli oversees the consigning and selling of Firearms, ensuring we are operating in accordance with Federal Firearm License Regulations. She also works as our US Coins & Currency specialist. Although, her biggest passion is coordinating our efforts to give back to our community through fundraising auctions & activities. Away from the auction, you can find Shelli running around with her kids & grandkids, enjoying the outdoors, crafting & being an avid auction enthusiast.
Tracy Brown
Administrative Support / Customer Service
Tracy has been with us from the very beginning. She spent many evenings with us down at the Tango Bar, brainstorming how to make the dream of this auction business a reality over a cold beer. She is our Jack of All Trades. With a bachelor’s degree from Boise State University and an extensive background in customer service paired with growing up on a local dairy farm, she can handle just about anything we throw her way. She aids in cataloging auction items, helps during load out and picks up the slack in our office. But her greatest asset is her attitude. She has a special knack that makes customers and employees feel happy, valued, and heard.
When she’s not at work you’ll find her helping on the family farm, spending time with her kids and grandchildren, or traveling the country with her husband who is a long-haul truck driver.
Cassie
Auction Yard/Customer Service
Cassie says, “I love my job! There is never a dull moment, and I enjoy helping all our awesome customers.” Fun fact: Cassie also gets to work here with her sister Morgan!
If Cassie is not working, she loves to play in the Idaho outdoors hunting, fishing and camping with her family and friends.
Morgan
Auction Yard / Customer Service
Morgan is a newer face at Rod Fivecoat Auctions having started in the fall of 2024, and she says, “I am very fun and friendly and always willing to help anyone!” Fun fact: Morgan is Cassie’s sister!
In her free time, you’ll find Morgan riding horses or going on new adventures with her family.
