Rod Fivecoat

Co-Owner / Auctioneer

A native Idahoan, ROD grew up attending auctions and learning the business at his dad’s auction company. Having the desire to continue in the auction industry, Rod attended the Western College of Auctioneering in Billings, Montana, and graduated at the top of his class in 1983. He then spent many years as a contract auctioneer selling for auction companies all over Oregon and Idaho and helped found Rod Fivecoat Auctions, LLC in 2015. Rod is an award-winning auctioneer, a licensed FFL dealer, a licensed motor vehicle dealer, and he is also our sales manager. It is Rod’s mission to treat customers with honesty and integrity. Whether he is selling your tractor or your entire estate, he will always leave you with a handshake and a smile. In his free time Rod enjoys spending time with his five grandsons, riding his Harley with his buddies, and traveling to new locations.

Jay

Sales / Consignment Specialist
Born and raised in Idaho, Jay has spent the past 15 years in sales, working with everything from saunas and cell phones to cars and RVs. Now he is bringing that experience to Rod Fivecoat Auctions, learning the ins and outs of the business from Rod and Tami—his father- and mother-in-law—who have built something truly special here. What Jay loves most about the auction world is that no two days are the same. Every item has a story, and every customer brings something new. Whether we’re selling locally or shipping from coast to coast, his goal is always the same: to provide a great experience and earn the trust of our customers. He feels that at Rod Fivecoat Auctions, we don’t see people as numbers—we build relationships, and that’s what sets us apart.

Outside of work, you’ll probably find Jay fishing, enjoying the outdoors, or spending time with his wife, Stephanie, and their two boys, Rio and Rome—his little homegrown Idaho spuds.

Jay is a firm believer in working hard, having fun, and always keeping a good joke in his back pocket.

He looks forward to helping you find your next great deal!

Tracy Brown

Administrative Support / Customer Service

Tracy has been with us from the very beginning. She spent many evenings with us down at the Tango Bar, brainstorming how to make the dream of this auction business a reality over a cold beer. She is our Jack of All Trades. With a bachelor’s degree from Boise State University and an extensive background in customer service paired with growing up on a local dairy farm, she can handle just about anything we throw her way. She aids in cataloging auction items, helps during load out and picks up the slack in our office. But her greatest asset is her attitude. She has a special knack that makes customers and employees feel happy, valued, and heard.

When she’s not at work you’ll find her helping on the family farm, spending time with her kids and grandchildren, or traveling the country with her husband who is a long-haul truck driver.
